The Poem
Between these green-painted walls, I learned that a girl's dreams have no ceiling — That knowledge is the greatest gift, And education is the deepest healing. They taught me more than dates and sums, More than science, prose, and art — They taught me how to stand up straight, And lead with both my mind and heart. Kanya Mandir, you are not just a school, You are where Nepal's daughters rise — Where thirteen girls sat down in 1947 And dared to reach beyond the skies. Seventy-five years of open gates, Of teachers, books, and morning prayers — Of girls who walked in full of doubt And left as women beyond compare. I am one of those girls. And I will never forget what you gave me — Not just an education, But the courage to be free.
